OTT Sponsored Charities and Events

Dorchester Food Bank

This year at OTTs Christmas in October we presented our donation to the Dorchester Food Bank.  By supporting the Dorchester Food Bank they are able to purchase or supply – some families with shoes, back packs, lunch pails along with necessary school items and snacks.  They will accept cash, gift cards, food or school supplies.

Anyone wishing to make an additional donation can make a cheque payable to Dorchester Food Bank c/ Jean and Bob Davis

Angel Hugs

Through one of our members, Marlene Miles, the Ontario Trillium Travellers is supporting Angel Hugs.  Angel Hugs is a nonprofit charity group, that knits, crochets and quilts for those who face trauma, crisis or life threatening illness.  We help by providing yarn and material to help make blankets, afghans, and new born outfits like bonnets, booties and blankets.  Angel Hugs also accepts any knitting or crocheting unfinished projects.

Pop tabs.jpg

For years now, the OTT has been collecting Pop Tabs.  These go towards providing wheelchairs for those in need.  It literally takes million of these Pop Tabs to result in a single wheelchair.  An individual cannot do much but we believe that as a group the OTT can make a difference.

This year the OTT has chosen as our Christmas Charity the Peterborough Salvation Army Christmas Toy drive.   We will be donating unwrapped toys and food items for the food bank.

UPDATE - October 10th, 2013

We received this message from Rocky and Sandra

" Thank you to everyone for the toys and food for the Salvation Army drive.  Rocky and I delivered the contributions yesterday to Keitha  at the Temple, who showed us the special door for large donations and thanked us for the first Christmas donations of the year.

Merry Christmas"
